The Friends of the San Diego Public Library (FSDPL) supports not only the downtown library as we do for Rancho Bernardo, it is the organizer of chapters at each branch library except for La Jolla, Rancho Bernardo, and Tierrasanta which are independently incorporated but cooperate in the system-wide activities.
This year at its Annual Meeting the FSDPL recognized almost 140 volunteers from all its participating organizations. Among them were four from Rancho Bernardo. They are pictured above: Judith Levine, Vivian Eisenecher, Oliver Smoot, and Diane Harris.
The President of the FSDPL, Joan Reese, The CEO of the San Diego Library Foundation, Patrick Stewart, and the Director of the San Diego Public Library, Misty Jones all presented reports focusing on our recent successes in advocacy resulting in the Library budget not only not being cut, but slightly increased.
These reports were followed by an amusing A/V presentation of the "Finding Waldo" adventure this summer.
Any RB Friend should plan to attend next year, the event is usually held on the second Saturday of September, and a nice buffet breakfast is included.
