Their only descendent, Lonely Jackson, fights against a huge corporation which wants to build a resort on the island.

2. Swan Song      Hildebrand, Elin
This is the last of Hildebrand’s Nantucket novels. The mysterious Richardsons purchase a 22-million-dollar summer home. They throw lavish parties, have two yachts, and flirt with various locals. Then their home burns down and an essential employee goes missing.

6. The Comfort of Ghosts      Winspear, Jacqueline
This is the last Maisie Dobbs novel Winspear will write. It takes place in London in 1945. Many people are displaced because the bombing by the Germans during the war destroyed many residences throughout England. Four teenage orphans and one former POW soldier, still suffering from his torture by the Japanese, squat in a mansion. Besides working to help the five squatters, a mystery about Maisie’s first husband, James, come to light.
